Nettie Brenner

Nettie Brenner, age 91 years, passed away on June 8, 2023 in Las Vegas Nevada. She was married to Leon Brenner for 67 years until his death on September 22, 2020. She is survived by her children, Jeffrey (Rebecca) Brenner, Denise (Michael) Ackerman, and grandchildren Robert (Jessica) Brenner, Drew (Sarah) Ackerman, Lindsay (Yakov) Kestenbaum, and Mandy (Brad) Colbert. She had six great-grandchildren. She was happiest around her family, especially the little ones.

Nettie worked in marketing research and at Tommy Armour Golf for many years in Chicago. After retirement, she and Leon moved to Las Vegas where her sister and brother-in-law (Edythe and Morty Rosenthal) lived. Soon after, several family members joined them, including her niece, Sherry (Gary) Katz and her sister-in-law (Isabelle Mendes) and family (Richard Gale Mendes). Nettie was extremely happy to have family living in Las Vegas.

Nettie and Leon both enjoyed gambling and seeing the shows at the casinos. They often met their big group of friends there and spent many fun evenings together. Nettie loved socializing and just being around people.

In later years, Nettie and Leon moved to Silver Sky Assisted Living. Nettie loved playing Bingo and listening to the musical entertainment that came to perform at Silver Sky. Nettie struggled with Parkinson’s disease but she always persevered. She had an extreme will to live in spite of her inability to walk and limited ability to communicate and use her hands. She will be missed by all who knew her.

A funeral for Nettie will be held Monday, June 12, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Palm Northwest Cemetery, 6701 North Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89131.
