

NITA IDDINGS Nita Jean (Sylvester) Iddings, 92, passed away peacefully Sept. 12, 2015, in Las Vegas, NV. Nita was born March 13, 1923, in Des Moines, Iowa, but lived in Redlands, CA & Bandon, OR for many years; moving to Las Vegas in 1964. She spent her life devoted to the Lord as a member of both the Disciples of Christ and Baptist churches. She was preceded in death by her infant daughter Jean Elizabeth, and her husband, Lee Iddings. Nita and Lee were married on the coast of Southern Oregon where they met in 1950. Nita attended Redlands University and worked as a secretary for many pastors and churches as well as the Clark County School District before retiring in 2001. Prayer, music and serving the Lord were a big part of her life, as she played in and directed handbell choirs, played piano and harp, sang in many choirs and loved to give lessons doing all of the above. She is survived by her children, Heather Carson and Malcolm Iddings, both of Las Vegas; three grandchildren, Hayley, Garrett and Chad; and four great-grandchildren, Jaymie, Gia, Vega and Magnum. Viewing will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, followed by a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. at Palm Mortuary Northwest, 6701 N Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV. "If you can't find me when you get to Heaven, come to the angel section. I'll be playing my harp there."
