Dear Shirish, Medha, Trishna and Pari,
Please accept our sincere condolences.  She was such a positive presence in the community here in St. Louis.  We remember her ladus, her expert hands at modak making and her artistic talents.  We have a beautiful framed Ganpati sketch that she had made and gifted.   Such a beautiful and talented personality, and we are glad to have got to know her.

As your only brother’s only daughter, I was the only one who called you Shobha Atya.  I always admired your strength, especially as I got older. I’m still in shock that you’re gone. You made a huge impact in this lifetime. You raised exemplary kids who also raised exemplary kids. You lived your faith. You gave generously and with open hands.  You achieved your purpose.  Now onto the next adventure!

I am blessed to have had you in my life. I am blessed that you showered me with your love. I don’t know how or when it happened, but our friendship will remain a special one for me….that is why saying this goodbye is so hard. I will keep every talk of ours, be it on phone or WhatsApp, in my heart. As you make this last journey, know that you leave behind so many people, from all generations, who love you.

Nivedita Mavshi has always been so dear to us with her amazing good humor and quick wit and her ability to get along with both young and old. She was an incredible artist and so creative. She was a good friend to my mom and also did so much for the community both in St. Louis and Las Vegas. Our prayers and condolences to the family but she has made herself unforgettable with her art and her friendships. Om Shanti🙏🙏

My fondest memories of Nivedita Maushi are listening to her stories and admiring her zest for life. She had the ability to face every situation courageously and turn it into something positive.   Maushi was very creative, whether it was drawing, painting, sewing, or knitting. She tried to teach me to do mehendi one time, saying it was easy. She quickly realized that was not a talent I possessed and her skill as a teacher were not enough to teach me 😊

I remember visiting her in Mumbai one time.  She was so excited that we went to see her that she made all our favorite teams to eat, even when she herself couldn’t eat them. 

I will always remember her smile and her positive outlook on life.  I have one of her paintings in my living room and now it will have an extra special meaning in our hearts. 

We will miss Nivedita Maushi and pray for peace for her departed soul. Om Shanti. 🙏

Very sad and shocking news of maushi. I still remember how aai and all her friends used to have hearty laughs and good time together. They all connected with each other so well. She was always full of energy and enthusiasm. She wore a great smile and made funny jokes. Her artistic skills were outstanding. She will be greatly missed. Pray for her heavenly journey 🙏🙏🙏

Shirish and Medha, we are deeply saddened to hear about Nivedita Maushi’s unexpected passing.
We have such fond memories of her. Growing up, Nirupama was very fortunate to learn drawing from maushi - she says it was because of her influence that she started to love art. Maushi also instilled love in her for all of our Indian festivals and cultural stories/practices, such as shlokas and Hindu epics. Despite not having any grandparents here, maushi was like a grandmother figure to her - we will always be grateful for that.  
We loved her enthusiasm to celebrate all these Indian festivals - Independence Day, Ganapati, Dussehra, Diwali, and Gudi Padwa. We still have memories of her delicious till and besan laddoos, which she would make on these special occasions. 
She will be greatly missed for her positive, energetic, and warm personality. 
You all are in our thoughts and prayers.
