

Norma Fortaleza Bowker, 82, passed away with her loving husband of 59 years Edward Bowker holding her hand through her final moments. Her 3 children, Anthony Bowker, Maribeth Aguon, and Shirley Tritz were by her side. Her son-in-law Don Tritz was also present, as she called on him personally for comfort during her last days.
She was born August 7, 1943, in Bacolod City, Philippines and lived a humble life as a child. She was 19 years old working at a hair salon in Olongapo City when she met her one true love, Edward Bowker.
She lived a loving and devoted military life as a Navy wife and mother, having been stationed in Subic Bay, Philippines; Sasebo, Japan; and eventually in San Diego, CA, where they settled after military life. She and Edward retired in 1993, splitting time between Florida and Las Vegas for several years, having finally settled in North Las Vegas in 2004.
Norma was caring, creative, adventurous, and passionate about her interests. She enjoyed cooking for family and friends, gardening, crocheting, sewing her own clothes, fishing, dancing, Keno, and traveling/exploring around the world with Edward making friends everywhere she went. They regularly drove across the US from California to Florida, stopping often along the way to enjoy the moment, and seeing sights like Graceland and the Grand Canyon. She and Edward traveled to, Germany, Egypt, Turkey, Paris, Okinawa, Canada, Puerto Rico, Spain, Prague, Maui and The Big Island, and parts of the middle east visiting Jerusalem and The River Jordan.
Norma’s life was full of love and laughter, always surrounded by family and friends. Her warmth, kindness, strength, and joyful spirit touched everyone who knew her, and her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those she loved.
Norma was predeceased by her father and mother, Angel and Susana Fortaleza, and her great granddaughter Vayda Bowker.
She is survived by her husband and best friend of 63 years, Edward Bowker; her 3 children, Anthony Bowker, Maribeth Aguon and Shirley Tritz; her 2 sons-in-law, Don Tritz and Gerry Aguon; her 11grandchildren Matthew Bowker & wife Karyssa Bowker, Jacob Bowker & wife Kayla Bowker, Joshua Bowker, Xavier Aguon, Jonas Tritz, Noah Tritz & wife Dianna Tritz, Serena Aguon, and Celeste Tritz; and 2 greatgrandchildren, Hayden Bowker and Tristan Bowker.
A visitation will be held at Palm Mortuary - Northwest, 6701 North Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89131, US, on June 5, 2026, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, followed by a funeral service at the same location from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
A committal service will take place at Palm Northwest Cemetery, 6701 North Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89131, US, on June 5, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm.
