Fr. Oneil A. Monzillo, age 89, of Las Vegas, passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2014. Born September 26, 1924 in New Jersey, he lived in Las Vegas for more than 20 years. Fr. Monzillo dedicated his life to God and the Catholic Church, having been ordained on May 30, 1953 in California. He joined the Las Vegas Catholic Diocese, serving both St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church and St. Joseph Husband of Mary Catholic Church. Prior to serving in Las Vegas, he served in Louisiana, New Jersey, and in the Vatican under Pope Paul VI. He was preceded in death by his parents Emiddio and Mary Monzillo, sister Margaret Monzillo. Survivors include his sister Rose Ricciardi, brother Gerard (Dolores) Monzillo and nieces and nephews Karen Ricciardi, Anthony Ricciardi, Marie Sloan, Thomas Ricciardi, Gerard Monzillo and Maryann Young and many grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins. Requiem Mass will be held 10am, Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at St. Joseph Husband of Mary Catholic Church, 7260 W. Sahara where a rosary will be recited 9:30am Wednesday. Interment will take place in North Arlington, New Jersey.
