James Patrick McCarthy was known as many things to many people. He was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew him best, Pat will be remembered as a very exceptional person.
He was the son of Viv and James McCarthy and grew up in Ohio.
Pat was raised with two siblings. He had a sister Kate and a younger brother Mike. Pat was usually involved in all sorts of activities with his siblings. He and his siblings shared many life experiences over the years.
On April 29th, 2000 Pat exchanged wedding vows with Rhonda Walls at Mt. Charleston. Determined and loyal, Pat was committed to making his new family happy.
Pat worked hard to be a good father to his child and he did his best to fulfill all her needs. Pat was blessed with a daughter, Kasey.
Fortunately, Pat enjoyed what he did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Pat worked diligently and did his best to succeed in his career. His primary occupation was a Fire Fighter, He was employed for over 19 years. Pat always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.
Pat was an Air Force Veteran. He was stationed in Germany and Las Vegas, Nevada. Pat was deployed during Desert Storm in Saudi Arabia. His fellow soldiers viewed him as a brother in arms and knew that he was as much a part of their family as their loved ones back home.
Pat enjoyed his leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. His favorite pursuits were golfing, watching football, karaoke and spending time with family and friends.
Pat found pleasure in sports. In high school, Pat played Soccer and received a full ride scholarship. Recreational sports included golfing. Pat was also something of a sports fan and enjoyed following his favorite football team the Steelers. And more recently following the golden knights hockey team.
Pat enjoyed traveling and time away on vacations. It was a chance for him to get away and spend quality time with his family. His Favorite vacations included Mazatlan, Mesquite and anywhere he can spend time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Rhonda and daughter Kasey. Services were held at Palm Northwest Mortuary.
Simply stated, Pat was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Pat leaves behind him a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life he touched will always remember James Patrick McCarthy.
