Loved my Aunt Pat! She always gave me sweets when no one was looking! I’m going to share a few old pictures I have found

I have so very many fond memories of my Aunt Pat. Growing up she was such an integral part of my life. My cousin Kim and I were more like sisters than cousins. I probably spent more time at the Baughn household than I did my own. I was sort of like the fourth child in house and was included in everything when there. Aunt Pat was always the kinda "crazy" aunt, funny and silly at times, but very supportive - the one who you knew you could always turn to for sage advice, or comfort and consolation when you needed it.. But don't think she was a push over - not by any means. She wouldn't hesitate to put you in your place, or let you know that she disagreed with your thoughts or actions.
In fact Aunt Pat used to babysit for myself, Nina, and Kim. I had 3 much older brothers, so at the ripe old age of about. 7, I decided to spout off all the cuss words I'd heard my brothers say ... unfortunately, Aunt Pat walked into the room at that very moment, and well, I will never forget having my mouth washed out with that bar of green soap! Besides that - I do have so many wonderful memories of times spent with her. I will miss you Aunt Pat.
Lovingly,
Cindy Lu Huber

John - Pat's sister Shirley's eldest son Vastyan

Pat was truly my Mom's sis. There was a loving connection between them that was unmistakable. I'll always -- and with great fondness -- recall our visits with the Baughns, when they'd visit with us, and especially when we'd meet in Michigan (home turf for the Umphrey's and Baughn's, initially). What a good life it was,all things considered, for Shirley and Pat, and their half-sis, Ann. Now, they're all together, reunited again!

I wish that, as adults, we could've connected more. In recent years, I had the pleasure of visiting with the Baughns in Las Vegas on two occasions, once w/my son Dan - and especially enjoyed my times with Pat.

We -- my family and I -- send prayers aloft for all of you. Pat will be missed , but she remains in my heart; yours, too, I'm sure. It's amazing now to know that she's with her sisters, mother Ruth, and Clarence, too. With warmest regards, and bountiful love - john v
