Paul, also affectionately known as Uncle Paul, Pops, and Papa to many loved ones, was diagnosed with stage 4 bone cancer just a few short months ago; he courageously battled and was able to pass peacefully in his home, just exactly as he had wanted. Born to Jewel and Hallie Mae Anthony on August 23, 1932 in Cleveland Ohio, Paul graduated from Orange High School in Pepper Pike, OH, he also attended Clark County Community College in 1989 for Casino Management. Paul served United States Army during the Korean War from 1952 until 1954 and was assigned to the Air Force in Germany, where he played on the Air Force golf team. Paul had a love for golf and was a scratch player. Shortly after settling in Las Vegas NV, Paul started working in the Casino industry and spent over 30 years in gaming in Las Vegas and Atlantic City, NJ. Paul was the first African American to hold a Casino Management position Las Vegas. He also worked at the SONGS Nuclear Power Plant in San Onofre, CA from 1982 until 1983 where he made lifelong friends. He was an avid sports fan and in recent years, Paul really enjoyed fishing with his sons, grandchildren, and good friend Don Johnson. Paul was preceded in death by his parents Jewel Anthony and Hallie Mae Lewis, his brother Frank Anthony, and his eldest son Mark Anthony. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marilyn Anthony; sons Matthew “Pat”; granddaughter Marilyn “Nici”, Maximillian and wife Trish; grandsons André, Markus, and Antonio; stepdaughter Erin Harrington, and granddaughter Madison Kent-Harrington; sisters Jewel Register; Dorothy Jones; sister in law Phyllis Kennedy; nieces Donna Jansen and Sandra Pridgen; nephews Tony Jones, Kevin Anthony, Michael Anthony, Scott Anthony, Paul Anthony, and Nick Yelverton; as well as many additional loved and cherished family members. He is also survived by his childhood friend and first wife Myrna Smith, with whom he had his son Mark and remained close to throughout the years.
