PEGGY POE Peggy Faye (Tatum) Poe, 85, of Las Vegas, passed away March 18, 2018, from complications of Alzheimer's. She was born July 22, 1932, in Prattville, Alabama, and was a resident of Nevada for over 56 years. Peggy worked as a cocktail server for Silver Slipper, Thunderbird and Landmark before becoming a successful small business owner of The Galleria Hair Salon. Peggy will be best remembered for her beautiful smile, great sense of humor, adventurous nature, love of family and passion for politics, having worked on several campaigns and served as the President of the Women's Democratic Club of Clark County in the 1980s. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Emogene Ott Tatum; sisters, Nell Parker and Patricia Kessel; twin brother, Paul Ray Tatum; and brother, James Black. Shortly after celebrating her 48th wedding anniversary in December 2010, she lost her beloved husband, Allen Poe. Peggy is survived by her daughters, Billie Faye Clark of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Lisa (Ian) Poe-Howfield of Las Vegas; grandsons, Ken Trichak, Michael Trichak and Kyle Root; brother, Ernest (Lanette) Tatum; four great-grandchildren; and numerous caring in-laws, friends, nieces, nephews and cousins. Special thanks going out to the staff at Nevada Memory Care who treated her with tremendous respect, kindness and love. Our sincere appreciation to Palm Mortuary for handling the arrangements with great compassion. The immediate family and friends will hold a small private service in April before placing Peggy next to Allen, the love of her life, at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, in Boulder City.
