Philip Pascual Lagasca

Born on May 4, 1952, Philip was the beloved son of Rafael and Natividad Lagasca. He was a cherished member of a loving family and shared a special bond with his brothers and sisters throughout his life. He is preceded in death by his beloved siblings Elias, Fe, Leticia, Eduardo, and Doris. He is lovingly remembered by his surviving siblings Ruby, Rolando, Lilia, and Gilda, who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.

Philip was the devoted husband of Marciana Lagasca, with whom he shared 51 beautiful years of marriage. Their love was a testament to unwavering commitment, faith, sacrifice, and partnership. Together, they built a home filled with laughter, resilience, and unconditional love—a place where family values, compassion, and faith were nurtured and passed on to future generations. Through every joy and every challenge, Philip and Marciana remained faithfully by each other’s side, inspiring everyone who knew them with the strength and beauty of their lifelong love.

Philip was a proud and loving father to Michelle, Kent, Christina, Baraquel, and Monica. His greatest purpose was providing for his family and creating a life where his children could grow, dream, and have opportunities for a brighter future. He lovingly embraced his children’s spouses and partners—Harrison, Michelle, Nikika, Marvin, and Ruel—welcoming them into the family with open arms and treating them with the same kindness, respect, and love he gave his own children.

His greatest pride was being "Lolo" to Gabo, Ysabelle, Ystel, Antawn, Ykay, Ipeh, Lucky, Kenzo, Rafa, Maleah, RJ, Chozen, Basti, and Yuan, who brought immeasurable joy to his life. He also had a special place in his heart for Rokko and Nikko, his son's beloved pets, who were treasured members of the family.

To know Philip was to know laughter. He had a remarkable sense of humor that could brighten even the hardest days. His jokes, playful spirit, and infectious smile brought people together and reminded everyone not to take life too seriously. He had a gift for making others feel comfortable, welcomed, and valued, whether they had known him for years or had just met him.

Beyond his role as a husband and father, Philip dedicated himself to serving his community as a Municipal Councilor for the Municipality of San Pedro. He served as a member of the 9th Legislative Council from 1992 to 1995 and the 10th Legislative Council from 1995 to 1998. During his years of service, he remained committed to helping others, representing his community, and working for the betterment of the people he served.

With the same dedication and love he showed throughout his life, Philip made one of his greatest sacrifices when he decided to move to the United States to provide better opportunities for his children. Leaving behind the familiar life he had built, he courageously embraced a new beginning in hopes of giving his family a different and brighter future. His decision reflected the depth of his love, his selflessness, and his willingness to work hard and make sacrifices so his children could have opportunities he hoped they would achieve.

While building a new life in the United States, Philip remained the same person everyone knew him to be—hardworking, humble, generous, and kind. He never lost his compassion for others, extending his kindness to coworkers, friends, neighbors, and even strangers. He gave freely of his time, resources, and heart without expecting anything in return. Philip believed that helping others was simply the right thing to do. Through his generosity, laughter, and genuine care, he made people feel welcomed, valued, and loved, leaving a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Above all, Philip’s life was guided by his deep faith in God. He trusted in God’s love and grace throughout his journey, finding strength in prayer, family, and the belief that every act of kindness and love was a reflection of God’s presence in his life. His faith remained a source of comfort, hope, and guidance, and it continues to be a lasting part of the legacy he leaves behind.

Philip will be forever missed by his beloved wife of 51 years, Marciana; his children; their spouses and partners; his grandchildren; his surviving siblings; extended family; dear friends; and the many people whose lives were touched by his kindness.
