

Phillip T. Peterson, 74, a 20 year resident of Las Vegas, passed away Nov. 27, 2016. Phillip was born Apr. 17, 1942 in Pasadena, CA and grew up in Northern California, worked in building trades and sales, and had the pleasure of traveling the western United States. Phillip had many passions, including art, guns, and photography. Phillip’s love for painting from pencil, pen, and paint, always captured people’s expressions, from sad, happy, deep thoughts showing the feelings through their eyes, and whether beaten faces. His love for the southwestern culture is reflected in his art. Over the past forty years, his works were for personal pleasure only. In recent years, he retired in Las Vegas, NV to spend time on his love of painting the southwest culture. Recently he started displaying his art in different establishments throughout the southwest, those people who have viewed his work expressed comments as amazing, life-like, and he has captured their expressions. Phillip was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Marjorie Peterson. He is survived by his companion of 10 years, Sharon Peterson; Son, Troy (Inga) Peterson; daughters, Kelly Meyer and Nicole (Brian) Peterson-Hargraves; brothers, Richard and David Peterson; sisters, Georgeanne Reikes and Kathy Clark; grandchildren, Alex, Lauren, Tyler, and Dakota. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
