

Phillip Edward Reese passed away at Angel Care Residence Home in Las Vegas on January 18, 2014 at the age of 84. Phillip is predeceased by his father, John Reese, mother, Thelma (Beardsley) Reese, brothers, Alfred and Russell, sisters, Carol, Lois and Patricia.
Phillip is survived by his loving wife, Sue of 42 years. Phillip is lovingly remembered by his brother, Ralph Reese (Jean) of Oakdale, CA, sons, Larry (Therese) and Ronald (Lisa) Reese, five grandsons, Patrick, Daniel, Lawrence, Samuel and Jeffrey.
Phillip was born in Monroe, NE on September 12, 1929. Phillip left school at 17 years of age and joined the United States Navy. While in the Navy, he was assigned to numerous ships as a Gunner’s Mate for about 18 years. After the 18 years, he was assigned to a recruiting station in Las Vegas, NV for the last three years before his retirement (21 years).
After retiring from the Navy, he worked for International Harvester in Arizona for approximately two years. Shortly thereafter, he moved to Orange, CA, married his wife, Sue, where he helped raise two young boys, who became Eagle Scouts. Phil worked with the Boy Scouts of America for 25 years. Phillip was awarded the Silver Beaver Award, Award of Merit and the Catholic Scout Awards, Pelican & St. George for his work in Scouting.
When Phillip moved to Orange, CA, he worked as a Machinist at Orange County Machine Works and retired from that job after 22 years. Phillip & Sue then moved to Las Vegas, NV. Phil spent a few years in Las Vegas as a retiree, and then proceeded to go back to work for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. Phil worked in Fleet Services as a vehicle Shuttler from May 2004 to February 2012.
The funeral service will be held at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1811 Pueblo Vista Drive, Las Vegas, NV, 89128 on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 11:00 a.m.
