

Raffaele Garganese, 76, a resident of Las Vegas, passed away at his home on May 1, 2015. He was born October 11, 1938 in the Bronx, New York to his parents Cosimo and Caterina. Ralph finished his schooling, and went on to serve in the U.S. Navy. Following his service, Ralph proudly served with the New York Fire Department until he retired. Family and Community were important to Ralph. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. Ralph was a proud member of FDNY Engine Company 94, Ladder Company 48, Battalion 3; member of Copiague Fire Department New York; member of the “Grandsons of Italy”, and a member of the Retirees Fire Department of Las Vegas. Ralph loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed photography, fishing, hunting, cooking, listening and dancing to 50’s music; and supporting his New York Yankees, New York Giants, and New York Islanders. He never met a stranger and will be truly missed by his family and many friends. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, and the love of his life, Janis. He is survived by his children: Ralph (Andrea) Garganese, Toni Marie (Kevin) Dolder, and Joseph (Jennifer) Garganese; sister, Clorinda Garganese; grandchildren: Kevin, Jr., Alexandria, Joseph, Kristin, Alivia, Carmela, Justin, and Taylor; sister-in-law, Lois (John) Prescia; nieces: Lori, Lynda, Lisa, and Leanne; nephew, John Joseph; and numerous grand-nieces, grand-nephews, and many friends. Memorial Services will be at 4:00 pm, Thursday, May 7, 2015 at Palm Northwest Mortuary located at 6701 N. Jones Blvd. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
