

He was born May 13, 1928, in Gillham, Arkansas, to William David and Anne Levina Oliver Guire. He graduated from Henderson State University, in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, with a Bachelor of Science in Education. He married Ima Sue Vaught on December 24, 1953, in Gillham, Arkansas. He was a veteran of World War II and Korea and served in the United States Army as a First Lieutenant. He was a teacher, before retiring in 1990, from Puerco Unified School District in Sanders, Arizona. He loved to fish, hunt, and garden.
Raymond Guire was preceded in death by his wife Ima Sue Vaught Guire, his parents, William David and Anne Levina Oliver Guire, sister Muriel Georgia Guire (Dean) Fassold, brother Austin David Guire, sister Myrtle Oletta Guire (Preston) Johnston, brothers Chester William Guire and Russell Ray (Gloria) Guire, sister Alma Joyce Guire (Jake) Kitchens, brother Orville Cash Guire, two brothers-in-law Russell Emerson and Robert Wells, Sr. and two sisters-in-law Hope Vaught and Linda Vaught.
He is survived by one daughter Jeannine (James Randall) Bishop of Las Vegas, Nevada, two brothers Patrick Edward (Joette) Guire of Hopkins, Minnesota and Floyd Donald (Lorene) Guire of Cloverdale, California; two grandchildren, Jaime (James) Gannon, Jessica (Cory) Laffin; five great grandchildren Braxton, Hayden, Jameson, Georgia and Magnolia; brothers-in-law Felton (Carolyn) Vaught of Gillham, Arkansas, J.D. Vaught of Horatio, Arkansas, two sisters-in-law Ruby Emerson of Texarkana, Texas, and Shirley Wells of Grannis, Arkansas, a number of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
Mr. Guire’s wishes were to be cremated. There will be a celebration of life to be scheduled at a later time for he and Mrs. Guire.
