Rebecca J Reyes

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Rebecca Javier Reyes, who passed away on June 19, 2026 at the age of 79 years old.

Born on January 6, 1947 in Manila, Philippines, Rebecca lived in many places. Her first stop was in Honolulu, Hawaii where she attended Brigham Young University–Hawaii. Her next stop was Chicago where she lived for over 35 years. From there, her next move was to Las Vegas where she has lived for over 20 years.

She is survived by her children, Ravinia (Florencis) Tagay and Peter (Loveline) Reyes; her five beloved grandchildren, Matthew(Georgia) Tagay, Christina Tagay, Rexavier Reyes, Pierce Reyes, and Riana Reyes; her siblings, Rosalinda Joaquino and Romeo Javier. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lucio and Belen Javier and her siblings, Reynaldo Javier, Rolando Javier, Rosalia Villaruel, Rodolfo Javier, and Rosanna Concepcion.

There are no words that can truly express the pain of saying goodbye to someone who meant so much. She was smart, funny, and knew so much (maybe too much). She meant so much not only to me and my family but to all her friends that she has made. She always told me, “Make friends where ever you go because that is what my father taught me.” Mom, make a lot of friends in heaven now I know you’ll have plenty.

The world feels a little dimmer without her in it. Though she is no longer with us, her love will remain in my heart every day for the rest of my life.

Thank you, Mom, for every sacrifice, every lesson, every prayer, and every act of love. I am forever grateful to have been your child and I’m forever grateful for you having been there for my brother, our spouses, and most especially your grandchildren.

Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers as we navigate this unimaginable loss.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2026 from 10am – 1pm at Palm Cheyenne Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne, Las Vegas, NV 89129. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate a life well lived.
