Reginald Duane Ashton was born in Muskegon, Michigan on October 26, 1927 to Dorothy Buddy Ashton and Kenneth O. Ashton. He passed away on June 16, 2018. He grew up on a farm in Cheboygan, Michigan, in a family of 9 children. He served in the Pacific in World War II and in the occupation of Japan in 1945. He later served in Korea in the Air Force.
Reggie retired from General Motors in 1987 as a lubrication engineer after 38 years. He and his wife Sally moved to Las Vegas in 1988. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Sally Gross Ashton and three children , Dale (Marlene) of Chandler, AZ , Lynda (Tim) and Karyn (Karen) of Las Vegas plus three grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. His brothers, Larry and Brian Ashton also survive him.
Reg has been an active member of the Grace Presbyterian Church serving with Helping Hands as well as counting the money and ushering for several years, There will be a memorial service on Monday, June 25 at 1 p.m. at the Grace Presbyterian Church chapel, 1515 W. Charleston. A reception will follow in the Fireside Room. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
