OBITUARY

Richard D Anesi

April 9, 1944 – October 12, 2025
Obituary of Richard D Anesi
IN THE CARE OF

Palm Cheyenne Mortuary

Rich Anesi, 81, of Las Vegas, passed away on October 12th, 2025. Born to Dorina and Anselmo Anesi, he grew up in Chicago in a traditional Italian home alongside his beloved brothers Jerry and Eddie. Rich was an avid Cubs fan and loved nothing more than a good Italian combo sandwich before a game. Above all, he loved his family more than anything. He is survived by his beautiful wife, Kathy Anesi, his "Boo" of 48 years; the love of his life and best friend. Their daughters Jennifer Mugnaini (Elizabeth Westfall) and Nicole (Mike O’Brien) brought not only years of joy, but also many opportunities for Rich to coach his favorite sport - softball.

Rich held many titles in his life, but as his family grew, all knew his favorite title was Nonno. His four grandsons: Nathaniel, Everett, Cash, and Rocco were his absolute pride and joy over the last 16 years, and they often spent time laughing and talking about sports.

A graduate of The University of Illinois Chicago in Electrical Engineering, Rich was very passionate about the trade. He worked as an electrician and contractor for nearly 50 years and rounded out his career as an instructor at UNLV. He was a true "every man," with an entrepreneurial spirit, and enjoyed the challenge of creating eclectic and successful businesses, including: an Italian deli, t-shirt printing shop and batting cages.

Rich was also a great storyteller and could wax poetic about his adventures in the Army, starting a band, building race cars, and countless shenanigans with his brothers.

Friend, uncle, grandfather, father, and husband, Rich will be sorely missed, especially at Christmas - his favorite time of year.

At this time, services are private and the family requests that in his memory, donations be made to his favorite charitable organization, The St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. https://www.stjude.org
