

Richard Alwyn Calder (Richie) passed away August 15, 2013, in Las Vegas. He was born August 27,1977, in Salt Lake City, UT, to Richard and Virginia Calder. He graduated from Jefferson High School in Shenandoah Junction, WV. He was an electrician by trade and an innovator of green technology and energy solutions. He was an outgoing free spirit who never met a stranger. Richie’s happiest moments were when he was able to spend time with his family barbecuing and swimming in his backyard. He loved helping people and was always looking for a new challenge. Richie was a lifelong car enthusiast who would spend hours rebuilding engines, a talent learned from his namesake and grandfather Alwyn Johnson. Always smiling and full of positive energy he could light up a room. He is survived by his parents Richard and Virginia Calder; his brothers Kenneth, Mark and Christopher Calder; his partner-in-life Stephanie Coulson; and his children Jonathan Richard, Fiona Rose, and Devin Michael Scott Calder. Celebration of Richard’s life will be from 5:00-7:00 pm, Tuesday August 20, 2013. Pastor Dave Devereaux will provide a memorial service beginning at 5:30 pm at Palm Northwest Mortuary and Cemetery at 6701 N. Jones Blvd. Las Vegas, NV 89131. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Las Vegas Valley Humane Society.
