

He was born on September 24, 1943 in Bangor, Pennsylvania, to William Lambert Menhennitt and Pearl Menhennitt. His siblings were Anna Mae Ruoss, Lois Stenlake (deceased) and Shirley Nejedly.
He graduated Poly High School in Riverside, California in 1962. On May 29, 1965, he married the love of his life, Alexis Dianne Collins, at the First Baptist Church of Riverside in Riverside, California.
He worked for Sears & Roebuck in Riverside from 1962 to 1966, in Eureka from 1966 to 1972, Lancaster from 1972 to 1979 and lastly in Las Vegas from 1979 to 1999. He then worked at Shadow Hills from 1999 to 2015. He also proudly served in the National Guard from 1962 until 1968. He was a resident of Las Vegas for 45 years.
Richard enjoyed baseball, golf and fishing. He loved family gatherings, travelling and church and family. He felt that his greatest achievements were being a Dad and a Papa.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Alexis Dianne Menhennitt of Las Vegas; his children, Amy Jean Davis (born September 13, 1967, spouse Nick J. Davis) of Las Vegas, Michael James Menhennitt (born April 29, 1971 of Seattle, WA), Carrie Ann McCormick (born September 3, 1978, spouse Shane Coy McCormick) of Willis, TX; grandchildren, Brettani Davis (spouse, Steven Abbott), Brooke Gentile (spouse James Gentile) and Alexis Furr (spouse Tyler Furr) and Sadie McCormick; great grandchildren, Carter Abbott, Ryder Furr, Brynlee Furr, Easton Abbott, Willow Gentile and Colton Furr; siblings, Anna Mae Ruoss, Shirley Nejedly and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on July 12, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Life Baptist Church at 6316 S. Tenaya Way, Las Vegas, with a reception following.
