Richard Joseph Pawl, Jr., beloved husband, father, friend, and all-around character, passed away on August 27, 2025, in Las Vegas, Nevada, just four days after celebrating his 75th birthday. Born on August 23, 1950, in Cleveland, Ohio, Richard lived a life full of grit, laughter, love, and more than a few unforgettable practical jokes.
Known for his sarcastic wit, big heart, and endless generosity, Richard had a way of lighting up a room—whether it was with a joke, a story, or a surprise prank. He loved deeply and lived fully, never taking life too seriously but always showing up when it mattered most.
A passionate car enthusiast, Richard’s love for cars began early and never faded. In his younger years, he raced competitively, and his favorite car—a purple 1965 Camaro—remained a symbol of his adventurous spirit. In a classic story that captures his essence, Richard and his friend Tim set out for Woodstock in 1969. But as they got close, a sign advertising a nearby drag race caught Richard’s eye. Naturally, he ditched the concert and headed for the track. That was Richard—always chasing horsepower over hype.
Beyond cars, he was a skilled woodworker who built beautiful cabinets, tables, display racks, quilt racks, and even his own pantry, each piece crafted with care and pride. His creativity and craftsmanship left a lasting mark on the spaces and lives he touched.
Richard will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for the laughter he brought, the kindness he showed, and the joy he found in life’s simple pleasures.
A memorial service for Richard will be held Monday, September 22, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Palm Mortuary – Northwest, 6701 North Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89131.
