

Family and friends regretfully announce the passing of long-time Las Vegas resident Richard “RT” Arthur Thompson on Saturday, November 27, 2021. Richard was born March 19, 1940, in Los Angeles. He grew up with a military school education and during his time in the military developed life-long friendships with a number of his fellow Vietnam veterans. After serving in both the USMC and Army, Richard graduated from Cal State Fullerton with a degree in Political Science and later in life earned a master’s degree at UNLV. Richard and his family moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1971 where he spent the majority of his working career in the local housing industry in sales and administrative leadership roles with the area’s leading home builders. He was an avid marksman and hunter, sportsman avid skier. He enjoyed fencing, judo, and hockey, with the Las Vegas Golden Knights one of his favorite teams. He is survived by his brother Glen Thompson of Arizona and family; son Craig HC Fehr and family; daughter Lisa Pechacek and family; son Randy Thompson; daughter Shannon Thompson and her sons Devon and Mason; and Bobbie Iaquanto and family; and man long-time friends gathered throughout his life. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wed., Jan. 19, 2022 at Palm Northwest Mortuary, 6701 N Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89131. Burial immediately following at 12:40 p.m. at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Dr, Boulder City, NV 89005. A Celebration of Life will follow at 2:30 p.m. the home of Nathan and Lisa Pechacek, Las Vegas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to The Heritage Foundation, 214 Massachusetts Ave., Washington D.C. 20002.
