Robb L. Marriott, Sr.
June 10, 1924 – June 30, 2018
Robb L. Marriott Sr., passed away on Saturday, June 30th, peacefully at home at the age of 94. He was 8 years old when his family moved to Las Vegas from Princeton IL. In 1943 Robb joined the Army during WWII. While serving his country he received the Bronze Star along with other accommodations. Upon returning from the service he went to work at Stauffer Chemical Plant. Among other things he managed a bowling alley, owned a couple laundromats, and in 1986 retired from the Sands Hotel & Casino. He was a member of the USBC and in 2001 was inducted into the Bowlers Hall of Fame for meritorious service. In 1967 he married the love of his life, Janie, and they were married for 51 years.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Janie; four sons, Gary, David, Danny, and Robb Marriott,Jr.; daughter, Diana Smith; son-in-law, Gwen Smith; five granddaughters, Starla, Courtney, Colleene, Kara and Stephanie; one great grandson, Jay; and his sister, Nancy Austin. Robb was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed by them all. A private family memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 11th and he will be laid to rest at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held in his honor on Tuesday, July 17th, 2018 at 3:00PM at Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89146.
