

Robert “Bob” Edward King, age 80, died at home in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Wednesday, March 25, 2015. Born December 17, 1934, in Oakland, Maryland. He lived in Las Vegas, Nevada since 1956 with his wife Kathryn “Kitty” King, deceased. He was a graduate of Southern High School, Oakland, Maryland. He then joined the National Guard 121st Engineer Battalion of Maryland and was Honorably Discharged in 1954. He then served in the United States Marine Corp, from 1955 to 1960, again being Honorably Discharged. He completed his Electrical Industry Apprenticeship in 1964 and was an Electrical Superintendent for RG Park Electric when he retired in 1995. Bob was a member of A&A Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, SJ, USA since 1975. He was also a long-standing member of The Shriners International, The Elks USA, Oakland Lodge and The American Legion and belonged to the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for fifty-four years. He loved the outdoors, hunting, and golfing. Survivors include his son Mark King of Las Vegas, Nevada and daughter, Lesa King Whittemore of Bittinger, MD. Two grandchildren, Gregory Whittemore, Las Vegas, NV and Madeline Whittemore, Towson, MD. His mother Gertrude Kitzmiller, Oakland, MD; half brothers, Charles Kitzmiller, Deer Park, Maryland; Richard Kitzmiller, Oakland, Maryland and half sister, Nancy Wagner, Oakland, Maryland.
