Robert Paul Knight passed away November 13, 2018 in Las Vegas, Nevada at the age of 84 of complications from heart and kidney disease. He was born November 11, 1934 in Lansing, Michigan to Kenneth and Pauline Knight. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Kenneth Lee and his first wife, Marian. After graduating from Michigan State University he was commissioned an officer in the United States Air Force in 1958. He flew single seat fighter jet aircraft, accumulating over 5,000 flight hours in his career. He flew over 150 missions during Vietnam with more than 100 missions over North Vietnam. He retired in 1985 with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. After retirement he moved to Oahu, Hawaii and taught at Kailua High School as the commander of the Air Force Junior ROTC program for 20 years when he moved to Las Vegas to be close to his mother and brother. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Chong Cha, four children, Robert, Keidi, Marie, and Kimbel, two step children, Charles and Chongho, and 9 grandchildren and step-grandchildren.
