

Robert Nicholas Kranovich passed away on April 25, 2026, at the age of 82. He was born at Steptoe Valley Hospital in East Ely, NV on February 5, 1944, as the youngest child and only son of Nicholas and Juanita Perry Kranovich. Bob grew up in Ruth, NV, and attended school there through the 8th grade. He went on to graduate from White Pine High School in 1962. Bob enlisted in the U.S. Army a few months later and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant (E-5) in 1965.
When he returned to Ely after his military service, Bob went to work at the Nevada Department of Transportation and 36 years later he retired as a Road Maintenance Supervisor.
Bob married Tracy Pelk of Baker, NV, on August 19, 1995, with whom he enjoyed 30 years of marriage. He loved living in Baker and going for drives around the surrounding area. Bob’s other hobbies included watching the news and the weather, putting together jigsaw puzzles, and coloring. He filled the pages of dozens of coloring books in recent years.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters Joanne and Jeanne. He is survived by his wife Tracy of Ulysses, KS, daughter Vicki Price (Thomas) of Aurora, CO, daughter Kelli Bishop (Rob) of Sparks, NV, stepdaughter Jennifer Hartman (Ron) of Ulysses, KS, grandson Russell Price of Aurora, CO, granddaughter Kami Gomez of Sparks, NV, and step grandchildren Josh Mark, Kylie Hartman, and Branden Hartman, as well as cousins, nieces, and nephews.
