Robert A. Starbowski (Bob), 81, died peacefully of natural causes with his family surrounding him Monday, March 15, 2022, at Spring Valley Hospital in Las Vegas, NV. Born on October 13, 1940, in Detroit, MI, to Alexander and Marie Starbowski, Bob was the fourth of five children, and cherished his siblings (Rita Kane, Dorothy Stewart, Elizabeth Karrio and Tom Starbowski), who preceded him in death.
A devoted husband, father and grandfather, Bob now watches over the most important part of his world--the love of his life and wife of 58 years, Josie; his two children Karen L. and Robert G. (Alicia Kerr); and two grandsons, Ryan A. and Andrew J. Starbowski. Known for his dad jokes, and for teasing and scaring his nieces and nephews, he will truly be missed.
Bob worked for 38 years at the Ford Livonia Transmission plant as a Cutter Grinder with a side position in coffee and popcorn sales! In that time, he made the move from city life to farm life, and then ultimately to casino life. Upon retiring, he and Josie followed their dream to move to Las Vegas and enjoyed splitting their time between the casinos and family near NV, and in MI, where they relished being spectators at their grandsons’ activities.
A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, March 18, at 10:00 a.m. at the Palm Mortuary located at 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89129. Lunch reception to follow. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice in Bob’s name.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.palmcheyenne.com for the Starbowski family.
