Roger Kent Bruner, 70, of Las Vegas, Nevada passed away on September 16, 2014, with his family by his side. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Dolores (Blocker) Bruner and brothers John and Wallace. Roger was born on October 28, 1943, in Omaha, Nebraska. He was a computer programmer for Union Pacific Railroad until his retirement in 1989 whereby he relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada. Roger was an avid Nebraska Husker Football Fan and coin collector. He also loved to travel and spend time with his children and grandchildren. Roger is survived by his wife Karen (Carlson), their daughter Andrea Bruner and fiancé Steven Combs both of Las Vegas; his daughter Michelle Bruner and John Kessler of Las Vegas; Karen’s children: Scott Booth and wife Tiffany of Las Vegas; and Tavya Booth also of Las Vegas. Survivors also include grandchildren: Hayley Prather, Aida Johnson, Brodie Johnson, and London Sharp; sister Beverly Rousek of Glendale, Arizona; and brother Marshall Bruner of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and numerous nieces and nephews. Arrangements made by Palm Cheyenne Mortuary. Memorial services will be held at 10:00am Thursday, October 2, at Advent United Methodist Church on N. Rancho with lunch immediately following. Burial will take place at 2pm at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Lung Association.
