Romeo Vindua Salcedo

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Romeo “Romy” Salcedo. Born on March 15, 1945, in Olongapo City, Romy passed away from a heart attack on May 7, 2026, in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the age of 81. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Romy leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity, and joy.

Romy dedicated his career to the Navy and fully devoted himself to his wife, traveling the world and creating lifelong memories. Known for his wonderful sense of humor and animated storytelling, Romy’s goal was always to bring a smile to those around him. A naturally welcoming person, he loved taking care of his friends—whether he was cooking for them, offering a helping hand, or simply bringing joy to the room.

He was a compassionate grandfather who loved playing basketball, bowling, and miniature golf with his grandchildren. Whether he was preparing their favorite meals or singing and dancing spontaneously, his pride in his family was always evident. He lived with a spirit of gratitude, often saying, "Thank you, Lord." As we remember him, we are guided by his favorite quote: “A satisfied life is better than a successful life. Because our success is measured by others, but our satisfaction is measured by our own soul, mind and heart.”

A viewing will be held at Palm Mortuary - Northwest, 6701 North Jones Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89131, US, on May 20, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

A prayer service will be held at St Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, 6350 N Fort Apache Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89149, US, on May 21, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, followed by a funeral mass at the same location from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.

A committal service will be held at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Mem, Boulder City, NV 89005, US, on May 27, 2026, from 9:20 am to 10:00 am.
