Richie Thompson

Sonny "Smooth" there are so many memories of growing up alongside you and Benny, Bobby, rest of the brothers. You always had a big laugh about the time on B.48 Street when my dad was going to hit me on the head with a rake... we were helping him clean up the sandy area in front of our apartments. I had stepped on his foot and he got mad and called me "Bonehead". I kept that name forever... There are so many memories of our get togethers, especially weddings when you would dance around with a napkin on your head You would tell my mom "ma they (brothers) are bothering me" She would then yell at us to leave you alone. You have always been a great part of our family. You shared a lot of love, laughs and joy. Rest in peace brother.

Sonny, you sat at our table many times and shared the stories of your life and times with the Thompson family. We laughed at all the memories of how you all got into so many predicaments and didn't get yourselves arrested. Ben always said you were the fastest runner he ever met. I guess that's why you weren't caught. You showered Minnie and your family with unending love and affection. You glowed when you shared the stories of your grandkids and how you cooked their favorite foods. Your life was full. You loved and received love in return. You are one of the riches men we know. What you had, money can't buy - true love. Sonny, you will certainly give God many, many chuckles. You will be missed but as long as we remember your stories you will never be forgotten.

Like many of us Sonny grew up with very little however, if you needed something he would give it to you. Thanks for all the fun times and great memories. RIP Smooth

Heaven has received the likes of the rat pack, and many funny men, but they have received the best of the best in uncle sonny. He is undoubtedly the funniest guy on the planet. He is greatly missed...the drag racing stories and talking about life in general I will miss.
Until I see you again uncle sonny.....

There are so many great memories with Uncle Sonny. Always made me laugh. Loved his sense of humor. The love and bond he had with my mom was great. Spent many summers at his house having BBQ swimming and lots and lots of laughs. He will forever be missed. Until we meet again 💙
