I’m so heart broken and I feel like the worst friend because I just found out today. I even had the nerve to be mad at him for not texting me back. He was my friend. Now I’ll have to wait a long time before I get to see his magic tricks and before I can get the absolute best friend advise available to the universe. And, I'm a little Jealous that he gets to be with Heavenly Father I know he’s loving it. I’ll see you in my dreams my friend.. until we meet up on the other side. 143 

Ron, was my missionary companion in Australia.  He was  my second companion.  He was the one person that taught me how the spirit of God works.  I will always be grateful to him.  Just know that death is not the end of life and birth was not the beginning of life.  Know that Ron is still around when you need him.  Again thanks Ron for teaching me.  I have not talked with him since our time in AU.  In some respects sad to see you leave, yet you have graduated, and moved on. 

I meet Ron August 91 when I joined WICAT Systems “Hotline”. WICAT’s Hotline was revered, & Ron was one of the best. Almost immediately Ron and I became great friends. Ron challenged his colleagues because he wanted everyone to succeed & reach their full potential. Ron never gave me an answer to a question, he gave me the means such that I could come to the correct conclusion on my own. It was, “Give a man a fish you feed him for a meal. Teach him to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.” It wasn’t just work either. I can’t even begin to count the movies, comics, books, current events we discussed & debated. Ron became such a great friend, he honored me by being my Best Man when I married my split-apart, Debbie Schilling.
Ron loved a good joke especially if he could playfully get under someone’s skin. There are just certain times & people, you should re-evaluate those choices. Ron, Debbie & I were at Hotline picnic. For some reason Ron thought it would be a good idea to start telling blonde jokes with everyone – including my wife there. My blonde wife that is a Mensa member & has made it known she does not appreciate such humor. Well after the 6th or 7th jokes, Ron was informed that was enough. As he was informed after the 8th, 9th, & 10th. As the last one left his lips you could hear the collective GASP of those watching. None of us even saw Deb’s hand move as it flung her glass of ice water backwards hitting Ron dead center in the face. Ron, like the rest of us, sat there stunned. Not a word was spoken, until Deb said, “I told you Ron, that was enough.” Deb & Ron laughed about that whenever we got together after that. No animus on Ron’s part because Ron didn’t have a vindictive bone in his body. I can’t remember him ever raising his voice in anger or frustration. You always knew where you stood with Ron, he didn’t play games, well other than the fun kind. He just treated people with respect, and earned it back. 
I am so, so lucky to have known Ronald E Seward, Jr. 

Having worked in the IT industry for more than 30 years, it was a pleasure meeting Ron and learning from him. Taking such pride and ownership in his work made him a pleasure to work with.

A mentor is an understatement. There are no words to express my gratitude and appreciation to my old friend Ron for guiding me into the world of IT. So many fond memories of our adventures.

You will be missed. 

I had the privilege of being Ron’s supervisor when he worked in customer service at WICAT Systems in Orem. Ron was a very gifted and dedicated software technician that always had a nack to solve even the most difficult problems. Ron was a very kind a thoughtful man and well liked by everyone on our team. It was a privilege to have known him.

I was privileged to know Ron for the better part of 20 years.  He was a man of many talents, with a love of science, fantasy, magic, games, reading, writing, and the being in touch with the human condition.  He had a unique wit and a broad imagination that he would infuse to the stories he wrote and the role he would play as DM for games with friends. His work ethic was nearly unmatched in the time I worked with him.  He was always willing to lend a hand in a bind, despite his workload. He was a loyal friend with integrity and I'm sad to hear that his time was cut short with us, but I know that he's continuing his journey in another place with those that have gone before him.

Thank you Ron for helping keep the magic alive.

I knew Ron for over 25 years, working together at Ovid Technologies.  Ron was my mentor when I started.  He was always thoughtful, cheerful, and you knew he could "get it done".

I'm glad I knew and worked with Ron for so long.
He was a great man and I'll miss him.
