Ron was born on October 21, 1941 in Princeton, Illinois to parents Henry and Janet Stuepfert. He spent his childhood on the family farm.
Ron was baptized, confirmed and married in the Lutheran Church and had a strong faith.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, his older brother Dave Stuepfert and his younger sister Kathleen Stuepfert.
After graduating from Lamoille HS, Ron earned his BS from Wartburg College, his MBA at Northern Illinois University, and later his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification.
When Ron and Joy met in his sophomore year of college, they shared an instant attraction. They had both grown up on farms and in very similar circumstances. Both of them wanted to move to the city after college. On Christmas Eve of his senior year he proposed to Joy at her family home. She was pleasantly surprised as she had asked for a hair dryer! On December 22,1963, they married.
During their 62 years of marriage they had two daughters, Lori and Lisa, and eight grandchildren that he adored. He was a loyal, devoted, and loving husband and father.
Ron had a long and successful career in finance as a portfolio manager for Fortune 500 companies. He became friends with many future market leaders and closely followed stock market news and trends well into retirement.
More than anything, Ron enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, skiing, playing tennis, pickle ball and golf and following various sports teams. Ron also enjoyed travel which took him to many interesting sites around the world including Antarctica.
At the age of 59, Ron officially retired to Park City Utah where he and Joy enjoyed 13 years. During this time, there was rarely a day he didn’t ski at Deer Valley, play golf at a local course or fly fish on the Provo and Weber Rivers. When Ron stopped skiing at age 72, he and Joy moved to Las Vegas, where they have enjoyed the last 10 years together.
Ron is survived by his wife, Joy, daughter Lori and son-in-law Mike, daughter Lisa and son-in-law Tim as well as his eight grandchildren, Kai, Owen, Finn, Aivree, Lucy, Yuna, Zuri, and Stellan and several nieces and nephews.
