Rose Virginia Hefner, 87, of North Las Vegas, passed away Nov. 11, 2011. She was born July 31, 1924 in Logan, W.Va., and was a 51-year resident of Nevada. Many people in Las Vegas enjoyed her great cooking for several years while she was employed at the Maverick Truck Stop in North Las Vegas and White Cross Drugs on the Strip at Oakey. She enjoyed creating exquisite wedding and birthday cakes for many. She was preceded in death by her husband, D. W. "John" Hefner. She is survived by her children, Carolyn Frillman, Mark W. Hefner, John V. Hefner, Joanne A. Hefner, and Matthew Hefner; ten grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m., Monday, Nov. 28, at Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.
