Rubie R Mosqueda

Rubie was born on August 31, 1940, in Topeka, Kansas. She was the youngest of three sisters, Ofelia Sanders “Fifi” (who passed away in 1991) and Martha Degrange (who passed away in 2008).

Rubie married her lifelong love, James Coleman “Jimmer,” on June 29, 1969, (passed in 2022) Their bond was rooted in devotion and partnership. Together, Jim and Rubie created a blended family, including daughters Gloria, Shawna, Kristena, and son Brett. In 1975, they expanded their family further by adopting Marc.

Affectionately known as “Mims,” Rubie was a grandmother to nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Throughout her career, Rubie worked as a dental office assistant and in accounting. She was a proud lifelong Teamster, working at Luxor and surviving the tragic MGM fire of 1980 with remarkable resilience. Her strong work ethic and dedication left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

In the early 2000s, Jim and Rubie retired and purchased property in Caliente, Nevada, seeking a peaceful new chapter. However, due to a long illness, they moved back to Las Vegas, where she was cared for by family. Despite her health challenges, Rubie remained resilient and strong.

Rubie was the last of the “Three Sisters” matriarchs, carrying her legacy with grace and dignity. She had a special talent for cooking and baking, and her family will always cherish her delicious meals and treats.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Sabina Ramirez, her sisters, Fifi and Martha, and her beloved Jimmer. Her burial date has special significance, as it coincides with their wedding anniversary, June 29, 2026. She will be missed by all.

Burial: Will follow the service at 1 pm, June 29, 2026, 7251 W Lone Mountain Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89129.

Reception: To follow the burial. Addresses will be provided at the service.
