I've known Russ for 18 years, as a subcontractor for D R Horton, I talked with Russ several times per week, mostly about work, but often time, about current events, ocean fishing, and just the general state of affairs.
Known to be "tough but fair" Russ was a true professional and most of all a good guy.

He will be missed.

I will see you later Russ.

So so sorry to hear of Russ's passing. I met Russ in his early days of joining the DR Horton team. Being so focused on doing the right thing, Russ always appeared stressed. Bob Duncan and I tried diligently to teach him to roll with the punches and find humor in the many crazy things that happened on a daily basis. He eventually lightened up and learned to laugh with us and the rest of the team. Though, I took great pleasure in helping him learn how to properly pronounce his "Cajun" birth name. Russ was a great guy who held his humor close and to break thru that ice, one was able to find a really special friend.

As his Building Inspector, Russ was one of the very few Superintendents who was always on top of his job, never played any games, and was always a straight forward and competent guy. Barb and I spent a few times away from work with Russ and Joyce and they were always a pleasure to be with. We'll treasure those times always and look forward to meeting up again where we've stored our Treasures in Heaven. Until then, we will miss you, Buddy.
