Russell A Veilleux

He was born June 5, 1960, in Waterville Maine to the late Sandra Dow.

In 1979, Russell enlisted in the United States Army. He earned both an Army service ribbon and an overseas service ribbon, as well as a sharpshooter badge in recognition of his .45 caliber pistol marksmanship. After moving to Las Vegas in the 90s, Russell spent his early career contributing to the city's historic boom by helping build and shape the iconic residential communities that defined the era. He later translated his love of automotives and people into over a decade working as a professional driver for multiple entertainment organizations, annual city events, and celebrations.

Russell was a muscle car enthusiast and spent many hours in his garage restoring his beloved 1966 Pontiac Tempest. His talents were highlighted by the many car show awards and trophies he received, including people’s choice and best burnout. Outside of the garage he enjoyed fishing, cooking, yard sales, and the WNBA.

Russell will be remembered for his sense of humor, gruff voice, and deeply generous heart. A surrogate father figure to many, he always had $30 you could borrow and a fix to any home repair issue.

Russell is survived by the love of his life of 32 years, Mary Veilleux of Las Vegas, and his daughters, Nicole Veilleux of Maine, and Melissa Chomintra (Andrew Paul) of Indiana. He remains cherished by his grandchildren Jaden Powers of Maine, Reginald Bunker Jr. of Maine, and Miley Bunker of Maine; his siblings, Brenda Veilleux (Gloria Nappi) of California, Bryan Veilleux of South Carolina, Christina Hilt (Verne Hilt) of South Carolina, David Veilleux (Della Veilleux) of Maine, Rebecca Igo of Florida, and Crystal Veilleux (Joel Kidd) of Maine; his mother-in-law Jeanne Webber of Las Vegas, his cherished nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews, as well as his dear brother- and sisters-in-law (Spaulding & Webber families).

Russell is predeceased by stepfather Hilton Dow, his father-in-law Roland Howard Webber, and brothers Gary Veilleux of Maine and Grogory Veilleux (Katherine Lanthier) of Maine.
