Sadie Winfred Joy

Sadie Winfred Joy, 83 of North Las Vegas, Nevada passed away on April 14, 2018. Sadie was born in Richlands, North Carolina to her parents, Millie (Taylor) and James Bryant Carter. She was a Real Estate Agent for 42 years where she received numerous awards for top sales. On February 21, 1953 she married her husband, William (Bill) D. Joy in Washington, DC. She was a longtime member of the Fraternal Order of Police and The Northern Virginia Association of Realtors. Sadie was preceded in death by her husband, William (Bill) D. Joy on July 6, 1989; her mother, Millie (Taylor) Carter, her father James Bryant Carter and her stepmother, Grace Carter; her brothers, Willis Carter, Mike Carter, Guy Carter and Kenneth Carter; her sisters, Viola Thompson, Maria Whaley, Macy Dodson, Eleanor Schaeffer, Leuvenia Glenn. Sadie is survived by her daughter, Karen Joy Taylor and son-in-law David Kim Taylor of North Las Vegas, Nevada; her grandchildren, Wendy Michele Fox, Michael Eugene Fox, Jr(Anne Fox), Andrew Joseph Fox, Kristin Norton(Todd), Peter Chidester(Charmaine), Vanessa Meneses(Hector), Nicholas Taylor(Lindsey); her great grandchildren, Clare Nolan, Corynn Litchford, Kylie O’Neill, Mamie Fox, Nina Fox, Justin Norton, Preston Norton, Tyson Norton, Peyton Norton, Elizabeth Chidester, Jesse Chidester, William Chidester, Tommy Chidester, David Meneses, Vanessa Meneses, Benjamin Taylor and Maddi Taylor; her sisters, Dallas Swinson and Mavis Hembley.
