Sam McMurray, 70, of Las Vegas, passed away April 26, 2013. He was born Jan. 30, 1943, in Hiltons, Va., and resided in Las Vegas for 30 years. He retired from the State of Nevada, where he worked in law enforcement and public service. He honorably served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He is survived by his son, Stephen and wife, Kristie; grandchildren, Caitlin, Connor and Megan of Allen, Texas; son, Gregory and wife, Julie; her children, Cara and Jake of Las Vegas; his long-time girlfriend, Deborah Madison; and her daughter, Christina. Services will be at 3 p.m., Wednesday, May 1, at Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89129. He will be laid to final rest in a private ceremony later at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City.
