Samuel (Sam) Robert Sugerman, 91, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed on October 16, 2021. He was born on February 26, 1930 in Jersey City, New Jersey to Mary and Oscar Sugerman, and was a 23-year resident of Las Vegas after living in Woodland Hills, California, for the previous 28 years.
Sam was pre-deceased by his beloved bride, Jacqueline in 2016, and is survived by daughter Sue and sons Fred, Rick, Lenny and Adam. He is also survived by granddaughters Aiyana, Jasmine, Kaya and Sarah, and grandsons John, Dylan, Abel and Nathaniel; niece Mindy and recently arrived great-grandsons Albert and Murdoch.
Sam served proudly in the United States Air Force from 1948-52. He met Jacquie on a dude ranch in 1954, married her in 1955; their union thrived for 61 years.
He found deep satisfaction and success in the worlds of real estate and insurance, was a world-wide traveler and skillful boater along the way, and a valued and original member of the remarkable Lindo Mar community in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
He took great joy in serving his family and communities in multiple service roles, including stints as president for local chapters of Kiwanis International, SCORE business mentor, Boy Scout leader and basketball coach.
More than anything he was known as an honest, good man, devoted husband and loving and supportive father.
Sam died peacefully on his own terms in his own home.
