

Sandi Darice Eminger-Thomas was known as many things to many people. She was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew her best, Sandi will be remembered as a very outstanding person.
Sandi was born on November 6, 1964 at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was the daughter of Herman and Sharon Eminger. Sandi grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico & Las Vegas, NV.
Sandi was raised with three siblings. She had she had two older sisters, Shaunie & Sheryl and one younger sister, Sydra. Sandi was usually involved in all sorts of activities with her siblings. She and her siblings experienced rivalries typical of a growing family, but they shared many life experiences over the years.
As a young girl, Sandi had a number of interests. Like most children, she enjoyed playing and making up games. She was curious about the world around her and was often eager to explore it. Sandi was an active child who took part in soccer. She played French horn in Jr high school. In her spare time she liked to sew, and make dresses for her sisters, she enjoyed the outdoors and loved going fishing. However, to Sandi, the most fun to be had was simply playing and spending time with her friends and family.
A typical teenager, Sandi had a happy high school experience, making that critical transition from adolescence to adulthood. She graduated from Clark High School in 1982. She enjoyed some classes more than others, having favorite subjects and teachers. The teacher she enjoyed learning from the most was, Jim Hoffman. She represented the State of Nevada in Chicago, IL for the DECA nationals.
Always considered a good friend to those she knew, Sandi enjoyed a broad group of acquaintances and several very close friends during her lifetime. While growing up, her best friend was Dawn Nelson Boudreau. Later in life, she became great friends with Randy Cusick.
On March 26, 1994 Sandi exchanged wedding vows with Michael John Thomas at First Christian Church of Las Vegas, Nevada. Empathic and loyal, Sandi was committed to making her new family happy. That day was such a memorable day for Sandi, because she married her very best friend, Michael, and they were inseparable since.
Sandi worked hard to be a good mother to her children and she did her best to fulfill their needs. Sandi was blessed with three children, two sons, Andy and Philip and one daughter, Mykael. Another blessing for Sandi was the gift of three grandchildren; Paiton, Marcus, & Mason.
Fortunately, Sandi enjoyed what she did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Sandi worked diligently and did her best to succeed in her career. Her primary occupation was a Chef. She spent her career in the food & beverage industry, and she loved every minute of it. Sandi always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.
Sandi enjoyed her leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. Her favorite pursuits were cooking, making new recipes, and cheering on the Vikings on Sunday mornings with her husband, Michael. She was content to enjoy her favorite pastimes alone but was also willing to share her interests with others.
Sandi found pleasure in sports. Sandi was also something of a sports fan and enjoyed following her favorite events whenever she had the chance to do so. Tops on her list were football and hockey. The Vikings and The Golden Knights were her favorite teams.
Throughout her life, Sandi was a doer and was always actively involved in professional and community organizations. In high school, Sandi was a member of the Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA).
Sandi’s faith was important to her. She was a member of First Christian Church since she was 3 years old. During that time, she loved attending church camp in the summers and youth group throughout her young years.
Sandi enjoyed traveling and time away on vacations. It was a chance for her to renew and relax, to visit new places and experience new things. Favorite vacations included Newport Beach, a Jamaican cruise, Disneyworld and EPCOT in Orlando, Florida.
Sandi was a lover of animals and cherished her pets. She loved all her pets, which include; Pepe, a toy poodle; Sunbeam, a boxer; Kali-Jo, a boxer; and Fraysia Fay, a Maltese mix. They were best friends for she had dogs her whole life.
Sandi passed away on December 20, 2019 at Mountain View Hospital in Las Vegas, NV. She is survived by her husband Michael; her daughter, Mykael; her two sons, Philip and Andy; her parents, Herman & Sharon; her three sisters, Shaunie, Sheryl, Sydra, and her future son in law, Jeffrey. Services will be held at Palm Northwest Mortuary.
Simply stated, Sandi was a good and kind person. An individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives and had the biggest heart out of everyone. Sandi leaves behind her a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life she touched will always remember Sandi Darice Eminger-Thomas.
