Shannon Pete is the son of Larry Nolan Pete and Delores Louise Mike. He is the husband of Denise Jean Pete and is survived by his loving children Deryn Scarlett Pete, Austin Thorne Shenk and Julian Pete. Shannon is the brother of Marla Pete, Marty Pete and the late Kevin “Mouse” Mike.
Shannon Pete was a character. A husband, father, nephew, cousin, and an enrolled member of the Las Vegas Paiute Tribe with roots in the Moapa Band of Paiutes. On the Jimmy Kimmel Show, Shannon famously earned the name “Cookie Face” after one of his favorite strains during a late-night run to Nuwu Cannabis. In 2016, once again Shannon invited the world into his heart when VICE TV featured Shannon on Weediquette’s Season 2 Episode 3. On the episode “Pot Powwow”, Shannon and Denise gave a personal tour of their home at Snow Mountain. He was a recognizable person by workers at Jerry’s Nugget, Joe’s Bar, Santa Fe Station, Molly’s and Dotty’s in Las Vegas.
Shannon Pete was a good man. Shannon was as kind to complete strangers as he was with the people he loved dearly. He was loved by many. He got along with everyone. Shannon volunteered his time for trunk-or-treats and other community events at the Las Vegas Paiute Colony. He put up grand Halloween displays with enormous decorations for children to enjoy. Just this past Halloween Shannon and his partner Denise gave away candy to kids at multiple community gatherings.
Shannon Pete was a person who gave. He gave to those in need. He asked for nothing in return. He gave to his children, his friends, his family, and to strangers. He was the type of man who would hug strangers, the homeless, and anyone who needed a friendly gesture.
Shannon Pete was a beautiful soul.
