

Sharky Ikeda was raised in Wailuku, Maui. During his childhood he learned to be reliable and respectful. He had four brothers, Ray, Dennis, Guy, and Bruce. Sharky and his siblings had the typical rivalries while growing up, but they cared deeply for one another. He took part in golfing, fishing, and diving. In his spare time he liked collecting and betting on marble games, collecting and betting on milk cover games, spent lots of time at the bowling alley, playing pinball machines, fishing, and diving. Sharky graduated from Baldwin High School in Maui in 1965. Sharky was a faithful and loving person. Some would even call his sentimental and a romantic at heart. His kindness and consideration radiated an aura of warmth to those around his. Sharky cared for what others thought and carried that into his marriage. On December 3, 1982 Sharky remarried Nani-Lu Yonemoto in Abilene, Texas. Compassionate and devoted, Sharky worked hard to make his new life partner happy. Harmony was important to Sharky and he made every effort to maintain it with his family. Sharky was blessed with three children, Sharky Jr., Vernon, and Leila. They were also blessed with two grandchildren, Jose and Ka'leah. Sharky's primary occupation was Operations Manager. He was employed for 29 years by Eaton Aerospace Operations. Sharky was an Air Force Veteran. He was stationed in Taiwan, Vietnam, Philippines, Okinawa, Hawaii, Texas, and Guam. Sharky saw action for Vietnam War. Through his hard work and dedication, he achieved the rank of Master Sergeant. He received several awards including a Overseas Service Long Tour Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Medal, and a Commendation Medal. Sharky passed away on December 31, 2013 at Las Vegas, Nevada. He is survived by mother, Kikue Lorraine; his wife, Nani-Lu; his children, Sharky Jr, Vernon, and Leila; his grandchildren; and his brothers Ray (Cynthia), Dennis (Soon-Hee), Guy, and Bruce. Services to be held at Anaheim Free Methodist Church in Anaheim, California and a private family scattering of Sharky's ashes on Maui. Arrangements under the direction of Palm Northwest Mortuary, Las Vegas, NV.
