After graduating from San Benito County High School in California in 1957, Sharon continued her education at business school in Fresno, CA. She lived in a house with several other girls, just down the road from a house where a bunch of guys lived, including her future husband Buddy Tharp. Sharon and Buddy were married December 13, 1959, and they were married 56 wonderful years.
They moved to El Paso, TX in 1968, where mom started her career in Insurance. In 1971, Sharon and the family moved to Amarillo, TX. During this period, the whole family met friends that became lifelong friendships. In 1977, Sharon and the family moved back to El Paso, where all her kids graduated from high school. In 1990, with all the kids moved away from home, Sharon and Buddy moved to Las Vegas, NV, where they remained for the rest of their lives. From El Paso, to Amarillo, TX, to Las Vegas, NV, Sharon continued to work in the Insurance business and became a go-to person for agents who valued her experience and expertise. Sharon was an avid bowler, whether bowling in a league with Buddy and friends on Friday nights, or taking her kids to their Saturday morning bowling league.
Sharon also loved to sew and knit. But, the one thing Sharon enjoyed most of all was spending time with family, especially her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. Sharon also loved music. Her favorite music was country music, and she was a diehard Elvis fan. She passed along that love of music to all her kids, for which they are forever grateful.
Sharon was preceded in death by her husband Buddy; parents John and Cecille Quaresma; and her sister Pat. Sharon is survived by her son Alan (Terri); daughters Debbie, Cindy (Wendell), and Karen (Kenny); grandchildren Stephen, Ryan, Madisson, Zoey, and Zach; and great-grandchildren Adam and Ava. Per Sharon's wishes, no services are scheduled.
Her ashes will be spread over Jackson Lake, WY where she will join husband Buddy. Jackson Lake was Buddy's favorite fishing spot, and his ashes were previously spread there. Sharon's favorite place was wherever Buddy and the kids were.
