SHIRLEY TOMASIEWICZ Shirley Mae Tomasiewicz (nee Roach), 75, passed away in Las Vegas, July 19, 2010. She was a 37-year resident. Shirley was born in Omaha, Neb., March 25, 1935. She is survived by her loving husband, of 54 years, Aloysius "Al" Tomasiewicz. As a military spouse and homemaker, she saw the world and they retired from Nellis AFB in 1976. She began a career with Nevada Federal Credit Union in 1976, and retired as a branch manager in 2000. Shirley leaves behind her five daughters, Patricia Vendetti and her family, Tony and Joseph, Alice Cornish and her family, Tim, Alan, Jared and Jessica, Jeanne Tomasiewicz, Janet Wolcott and her family, Guy, Garrett and Lauren, and Mary Remer and her family, Don, Matthew, Michael and Sarah. Shirley also leaves behind her younger brother, Michael Roach of Omaha; and sister, Marcie Shriver of Waco, Texas. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Sarch and Kathleen Roach; brother, Ed; and sisters, Alice, Mary, Annie, Pat and Helene; and granddaughter, Sarah. Words cannot describe the loss of this remarkable woman. Her inspiring faith and loving family are her legacy. She passed away peacefully at home knowing her family will lean on each other to get through this difficult time. Her final resting place, on Earth, will be in Omaha. For Las Vegas, the viewing and Rosary will be Wednesday, July 21, at Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Viewing will be 3-6 p.m., and the Rosary will be 6-7 p.m. Mass will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, July 22, at Our Lady of the Skies Parish, on Nellis Air Force Base.
