might have left you thinking of her as an intractable old goat, this was just the surface expression of her limitless and
unwavering commitment to her loved ones. The world is a bountiful place with so much to offer
but for even the strongest and wisest among us, the challenges we all must face as a matter of course can cause us to
forget its wonders, obscuring the truth that the simplest parts of life are in fact the most valuable and that they should be always
cherished and celebrated above all else. My grandma's most special attribute was her ability to remain content in the face
of even the worst of times. She endured much hardship throughout her long and eventful life,
surviving a world war and a communist revolution, overcoming racism and a bad marriage, and contending with a
family that tragically misunderstood her at times. In recent years, she became devastatingly frail from illness. But through each
and every moment on this earth, up through her very last day, she motivated everyone powerfully with just the dignity of her
gentle smiles and soft, airy laughter, reminding everyone that within even the most turbulent storm of life's uncertainties,
we can rely on and revel in the beauty of the companionship of a loved one.
To see our existence with all the appreciation it deserves is the foundation of all that is good. This, her ultimate legacy,
persists through everyone who knew her story. We all give thanks for having felt her presence. May she now know
peace in the arms of the Lord.
