Silver Andrew Ortega, 64, of Las Vegas passed away December 12, 2011. He was born September 28, 1947 in Santa Barbara, California and was a resident of Las Vegas for 35 years. Silver served 2 terms in the US Army in the Vietnam War where he received a purple heart. He was enthusiastic and full-spirited man who will be truly missed. Silver had a way of bringing laughter and joy to others, and always made time for family and friends. Silver loved his freedom and enjoyed his bingo and golfing in his spare time. He was survived by his younger brother, Frank; his nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Snickers. Services will be held on January 13, 2012 at 920am at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Boulevard, Boulder City, Nevada.
