Sophie Cooke

Sophie Mabugat Cooke, 93, of Las Vegas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 9, 2013. Born November 6, 1920 in the Philippines and had lived in Washington State and California before moving to Sun City Summerlin for 22 years. She retired from the Federal Government in 1984. Sophie loved to travel and be with her many friends, yet still found time to teach hula dance and volunteer in her community. She was preceded in death by her husbands Maurice, Richard and Robert and three siblings. Survivors include her children Bruce (Rae Hayashi) Pulmano and YvonneGreen, six grandchildren,one great grandson, five sisters, one brother and numerous nieces and nephews here in the US and in the Philippines. Funeral mass will be held at 11am Monday, November 18, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1811 Pueblo Vista Dr. Las Vegas, NV 89128. Family will receive friends from 3-7pm Sunday, November 17 at Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Interment will take place in Conejo Mountain Memorial Park, Camarillo, California. Contributions in Sophie's name are suggested to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church or Retired Service Volunteers Program, 531 N. 30th St. Las Vegas, 89101.
