

Leary Bernard Adams, III was born on April 5, 1972, in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was baptized into the Catholic faith on May 20, 1972, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Destrehan, Louisiana. Leary III was the first grandchild and nephew born to the Adams, Sr. family. He spent much of his early childhood in St. Rose, Louisiana prior to moving to Kadena Air Base, Japan where his father, Captain Leary B. Adams, Jr. was assigned. Leary III loved living abroad and immersed his young self in the Japanese culture. He spent his teenage years at Whiteman Air Force Base (AFB), Knob Noster, Missouri and Nellis AFB, Las Vegas, Nevada, with parents, Captains Leary, and Regina Adams. Leary III graduated from Rancho High School, Las Vegas, NV in 1992.
On December 17, 1992, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, following in his father’s footsteps. During his 14-year military career, Staff Sergeant Leary B. Adams, III served tours of duty in Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and South Korea. Additionally, he was awarded numerous decorations and medals to include: the Air Force Good Conduct Medal with four oak leaf clusters, National Defense Service Medal with one service star, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Air Force Overseas Ribbon, Air Force Expeditionary Service Ribbon with gold border, Iraq Campaign Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, USAF Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Military Education Graduate Ribbon, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon (Rifle), and the Air Force Training Ribbon. Staff Sergeant Adams III was honorably discharged from active service on March 16, 2007, at Nellis AFB, NV.
Leary III married Deaundra Kirby on December 31, 1994, in New Orleans, Louisiana. They began their life together at Vandenberg AFB in Lompoc, California. On March 8, 1997, they joyfully welcomed the birth of their daughter, Jasmine. Their tiny family continued to grow. Daughters Taryn and baby sister Addison were born on April 5, 2012, and on November 16, 2013, respectively. Leary III believed fatherhood was his greatest accomplishment. He was a present and loving father.
Leary III was preceded in death by his mother, Donna Marie Adams; paternal grandparents: Leary Sr. and Margaret Adams; maternal grandparents: William and Josephine Jones; beloved uncles: Bobby Jones, Byron Adams, Sr.; & cousin, Tiara Adams. He is survived by his wife Deaundra Adams; daughters: Jasmine Breanna Adams, Taryn Trinity Adams, and Addison Grace Adams; parents Dr. and Mrs. Leary B. Adams, Jr; brothers: Christopher Jerome Adams, Cory James Adams & Royce Leary Adams; nephews: Elijah and Isaiah Adams; niece Dyllynn Brown Payne & a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
