Stella Collins, 74, of Las Vegas, passed away Friday, March 10, 2017, in Centennial Hills Hospital. She was born March 9, 1943, in Alabama and was raised in Georgia. She moved several times and after working for many years at Ingersoll Cutting Tools in Rockford, Illinois, settled in Las Vegas in 1989. She retired from Cashman Equipment Co. after 20+ years and loved spending time with her friends and family. I am so proud to be her daughter. She always put me first and made sure we didn’t just have a house but a home. I admired and respected her for always paving her own way and accomplishing so much on her own. We stayed close even though we were states apart and I am so grateful for everything she did for us. She loved her grandkids and son-in-law more than seems possible and they loved her right back. I have been humbled by the outpouring of love from all her friends. They have treated me like family and made me realize that everyone who knew her loved her. She is survived by her daughter, Michelle (Tom) Brown, grandchildren, Dylan and Makenna Brown, of Loves Park, IL and brothers, Bryan (Charlene) Greenhaw, John (Anita) Greenhaw, and James (Heather) Greenhaw, all living in Georgia. She did not want a service but said to have a party instead so we will gather together on March 25, 2017, at 8250 N. Grand Canyon Drive, Las Vegas, 89166 from 1-3:30 for food and refreshments to celebrate and appreciate everything she meant to us.
