Stephen A. LeMond

Stephen A. LeMond, of Las Vegas, was born to Mary N. Stephen-LeMond and Phelix A. LeMond on May3, 1950 in Chicago, IL. He passed away on June 30, 2015 in the comfort of his home, surrounded by loved ones. Steve moved to Las Vegas in 1982 and in the late 80s founded Absolute Insurance which insured many local businesses for over 20 years. He was actively involved in the Las Vegas business community and served as president of the Las Vegas Rotary Club from 1994-1995. With an innate athletic and competitive drive, he became an accomplished sailor, skier, and golfer. He enjoyed memberships in the Red Rock and Canyon Gate Country Clubs as well as partnerships in multiple sailing groups both domestic and abroad. As a father, Steve was loving and supportive; he imparted his strength, ambiton, motivation and sense of adventure to each of his children. The family created by his marriage to Lynn, his wife of ten years, immediately became close-knit through shared interests and love. Many cherished memories were made with his family on sailing journeys and ski trips around the world. He was preceded in death by his father, Phelix A. LeMond. He is survived by his wife: Lynn LeMond; children: Danielle Satterfield of Puerto Vallarta, MX, Lisa LeMond of Denver, CO, and Austin LeMond of Denver, CO; stepchildren: Travis Wirth of Bend, OR, Jessica Wirth-Strine of Swarthmore, PA, and Allison Wirth of Solana Beach, CA; grandchildren: Walter William Cuculic, Jane Ann Cuculic, Miles Stephen Cuculic, Kendra Sales, Macy Jung, and Ben Strine; mother: Mary LeMond of Las Vegas, NV; siblings: Paula LeMond of McCormick, SC, Michael LeMond of Glendora, CA, and Gary LeMond of Altadena, CA. Private services were held for the family. Donations in Steve's honor may be made to The First Tee Of Southern Nevada.
