Steve married his dear wife Hobie on July 28, 1991 in Van Nuys, CA. Steve was born in Manhattan, New York to Bernie and Mimi Hellerstein on December 24, 1946. His father Bernie was in the military, and they traveled for much of Steve’s youth. He eventually settled in Southern California after enlisting in the Air Force and being deployed to Vietnam several times. He then began his 43 year career working for the Motion Picture and Television Industry.
Steve donated his time to several local charities. Closest to his heart was Operation Homefront, NV. An organization who helps local families in need while their loved ones are deployed. Steve also gave much of his time to several local golf charities.
An avid golfer, Steve enjoyed his days out on the course with his wife and friends. His proudest achievement would be getting a hole in one, twice!
Steve was also a very enthusiastic hockey fan. No one could have been happier for Las Vegas to land an NHL team, The Golden Knights. He had season tickets and would go to a game every chance he got. He passed this love on to his family, who will continue to go to games and his grandson even plays at 5 years old!
